Hair Thinning in WomenThinning hair in women is becoming more and more common.  No matter what age a woman is, she will want to find a way to stop losing hair, as losing hair equates with losing confidence in many people that suffer with hair loss.

Though thinning hair is common during menopause, it is becoming more common among young women too.  Thinning hair in young women can be due to various hormonal changes.  The percentage of women that suffer with thinning hair is now almost as high as that of men with thinning hair.

Thinning hair during menopause is very common as there is imbalance of hormones which affects the whole body. Many women can find a significant change with glowing thick hair during pregnancy. This is due to the hormonal changes which is the result of the thickness of hair in women.

Treatments: There is no need to worry or panic about the thinning hair. Thinning hair can be regrown if proper care is taken. Maintenance of proper diet plays a key factor to beautiful hair. In order to avoid further thinning, it is ideal to use a cleanser and moisturizer which are good for the scalp.  Also making sure that you have the correct intake of vitamins and minerals will be tonic for the thinning hair.

Causes: If the thinning hair is due to infection, it is best to take the advice of a doctor who will guide you to a proper treatment. Some of the other causes could be due to lack of nutrition, thyroid disease, drugs or allergies. If the person with the thinning hair has had a surgery or undergoing radiation or chemotherapy treatment, then to suffer from thinning hair is to be expected.  Too much stress is another main cause, so aim to try and deal with stress in your life.

Tips/Solutions:  Many women try various hairstyles to hide the thinning areas. If the hair is combed or brushed in the opposite direction, it helps pull the hair up. There are also many kinds of shampoo formulas that are available which helps hair to grow. Strands of hair can be braided in small plaits.  The attachments can be left in, nicely shampooed and styled according to the choice of a woman. This cannot be done often though.  If for some reason hair products are not suitable, there are formulas that can be applied to the hair which will help it to re grow.

Of course these formulas or applications may not be suitable with all women.  Some formulas may have to be continued for a longer period of time. In some cases where lots of thinning has taken place, some new options will have to be chosen. One of the options is to go in for hair transplants which may turn out to be very expensive, but appearance wise it may be worth while to give it a try. Hair should not be scrubbed with finger nails and should be kept clean and brushed.
